Q: How do I schedule an appointment for therapy or wellness services?
A: The most efficient way would be to fill out our new appointment request form and then once we receive your form either Dr. Link or Dr. Perrymore will contact you through your prefered method of contact. By filling out the form before we contact you we will have all of the informationed needed to easily schedule your first appointment/consultation. You can also call us at 610-265-3400 and your call will be answered right away by our answering service if we are in with patients and we will return your message as soon as possible. Q: What will my first appointment consist of?
A: Your first appointment will be a consultation with your therapist and will last approximately 45 minutes. During this time the challenges you are having will be discussed, a plan for treatment will be made and time will be allotted so that you can ask as many questions as you would like and then decide when you and your therapist will meet next.
Q: How long are all subsequent sessions?
A: Each following session is also 45 minutes long. Most patients attend sessions on a weekly basis, but others opt to attend sessions twice a week or twice a month.
Q: How long will I need to be in therapy?
A: The length of your treatment depends on the issues that you would like to address. At the end of your first meeting, a suggested length for your therapy can be assessed and discussed. It is worth noting that some patients report feeling better after a few sessions. As you make progress you can typically keep up your progress with the option of maintenance sessions. These can be conducted monthly or even every other month and are designed to monitor the changes and continue the growth and progress you will have made.
Q: I heard Cognitive Behavioral Therapy emphasizes homework, can you describe what exactly homework is?
A: Therapy is not a process that takes place solely during the time you are with your therapist. It is important that you transition what you learn in therapy to your everyday life. Therefore, "homework" assignments that you can work on between sessions will be collaboratively decided. Homework consists of activities such as reading assignments, tracking your moods, thoughts, behaviors, changing the way you communicate with others and more.
Q: Is what I share with my therapist confidential?
A: Your confidentiality is protected by state law and by the rules of our profession. All information concerning patients is held confidential and is released only through procedures consistent with the law and professional ethics.
Q: I'd like to begin therapy but value my privacy, is there anything you can do to help protect my privacy?
A: While we personally are not shy about how much we love therapy we understand that some people prefer to be private about their love of therapy/seeing their therapist. We have worked and currently work with high level executives and public figures and understand the need for extra privacy. If this is a concern for you we can discuss ways to increase your protection, such as us texting you at the time of your appointment to let you know the office is free so you can walk right in instead of waiting in the waiting area for your appointment and/or using a special exit available when leaving your appointments (available at our king of prussia office).
Q: What if I think I need to be evaluated for medications or I am already prescribed medications?
A: We collaborate with local psychiatrists and medical professionals on a regular basis and if you needed referrals for a medication evaluation your PeaceTree therapist can assist you with that process.
Q: How will I know if I'm getting better?
A: After your first session goals that you would like to accomplish will be identified and evaluation and measurement of your goals will continue on an on-going basis.
Q: Can I use my health insurance?
A: We currently work in-network with most BCBS plans including highmark, PPO, keystone health plan east, personal choice, Independence Blue Cross and Aetna plans. We work with ALL other insurance companies as an out-of-network provider. Working as an out-of-network provider is a simple process and we will assist you with it throughout treatment. First, your insurance company needs to be contacted to inquire about your mental health "out-of-network benefits." Generally, insurance companies can reimburse anywhere from 50% to 80% percent depending on your plan and deductible. You would then pay our fee at the time of our session and our billing department can then submit the claim/what you paid directly to your insurance company. Your insurance company will then send you a check for your reimbursement based on your specific insurance policy's benefits.
Q. What is your private pay fee for sessions?
A. $150.00 a session (45 minutes).
Q. Do you have flexible hours?
A. Yes, we offer appointments Monday through Saturday from early moring (8am) until late evening (9pm) appointments.
